Knife vs. Gun

For those keeping track of production, I'm putting the finishing touches on the new Spenser novel and headed right back into the sequel to The Ranger. Both novels will be out in 2012. As I return to writing about Quinn, I'm often reminded of James Coburn in The Magnificent Seven. For those of you in the know, you'll understand.
Comments:
Read The Ranger. Liked it but am waiting to see how Spenser comes out. Are you going to reboot it or start from where Dr. Parker left off? Reviewed Ranger on Amazon. Keep up the good work. Think Chris Pine would make good Ranger.

Spenser #40 picks up six months after Sixkill.

Apologies if this has been asked before: Reports have said that Robert B. Parker (RIP) passed away while in the middle of a Spenser book. Are you finishing an unfinished manuscript, or writing a completely new one?

Read all of your books this month. Now I just have to find room for them on my bookshelf next to J. L. Burke, Lehane, Connelly, Hiasson, Lansdale, Pelecanos, R.W. White, J.W. Hall, Sandford, and, of course, Robert B. Parker. Yours will fit just fine.

Was not impressed with Sixkill, read like a first draft, but very much anticipating your take on Spenser. Funny, judging by the title, Killing the Blues, it would not have surprised me to see that you'd penned the next Jesse Stone novel, too.

Thanks for the great reads and an entertaining July.
