Spenser Soundtrack

I've been listening to a lot of Carmen McRae lately after a high recommendation by Spenser and Hawk in "Potshot." McRae recorded with some my favorites: Dave Brubeck, Louis Armstrong, and Count Basie to only name a few. Pour yourself a tall Scotch over ice, kick off your shoes, and listen to one of her memorable performances of "Round Midnight."

More Spenser News

We're still several weeks away from Spenser's newest case, but Rick Koster of The Day has weighed in on the subject. And as an author with a lot scrutiny these days, I greatly appreciated what Rick had to say on the subject. Also check out this great clip of one of RBP's favorite singers, Anita O'Day. Like everything RBP appreciated -- from baseball to jazz to great beer -- the song resonates with class.

Pistol Annies

I've been playing the hell out of this album from Nashville super group -- Pistol AnniesMiranda LambertAshley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley. Like most people, I've been pretty disenchanted with the sorry state of country music these days. This is a throwback to Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette.  Highly recommended.
